Nel cuore della Chiesa Ex Santa Croce a Tuscania prende vita un raffinato omaggio alla Hausmusik ottocentesca, quell’arte del suonare tra amici e in famiglia che fiorì nei salotti borghesi dell’Europa centrale. In un’atmosfera di raccoglimento e bellezza, quattro musicisti di alto profilo – flauto, viola, violoncello e chitarra storica – ricreano l’eleganza discreta e la profondità emotiva di un repertorio poco esplorato, ma ricchissimo di fascino.

In programma, pagine di János Fusz e del celebre Franz Schubert nella trascrizione di Wenzel Thomas Matiegka, capace di fondere la cantabilità schubertiana con la delicatezza timbrica degli strumenti a pizzico e ad arco. Ogni brano si fa racconto intimo, dialogo sottovoce tra le voci strumentali, avvolto dalla risonanza calda e naturale di uno spazio architettonico senza tempo.

Inside the evocative ex Church of Santa Croce in Tuscania, a refined tribute comes to life: a celebration of 19th-century Hausmusik, the art of music-making in private salons and homes that flourished in Central Europe. In this historic and contemplative space, four accomplished musicians – playing historical instruments including flute, viola, cello, and classical guitar – bring to light a rarely heard yet deeply expressive repertoire.

The program features works by János Fusz and Franz Schubert, the latter in a delicate transcription by Wenzel Thomas Matiegka, which blends Schubert’s lyricism with the unique timbral colors of plucked and bowed instruments. Each piece becomes an intimate musical conversation, echoing through the ancient walls of Sant’Agostino in a warm and timeless resonance.
